ACTIV-8 Delta 8 THC Syrup in Cherry & Grape | Review

activ-8 d8 thc syrups and cups

ACTIV-8 is a Delta 8 THC company with a simple and honorable goal: replace cough syrup with THC syrup. Read our ACTIV-8 THC syrup review to see if this is the sizzurp you should be sippin’ on.

About ACTIV-8

ACTIV-8 is based in sunny Orlando, Florida, where cannabis hemp can grow in back to back to back seasons. But for ACTIV-8, the normal slew of topicals, tinctures, and edibles wasn’t the end goal in mind—it has one simple product with a commendable goal: THC Syrup.

THC Syrup is a legal, readily available alternative to prescription cough syrup. It is healthier, less addictive, and significantly cheaper. ACTIV-8 currently sells its THC syrup in two flavors: Grape and Cherry. The syrup itself is available in a bottle or as a six-pack.

For this review, ACTIV-8 sent over both flavors of its D8 THC syrups, as well as twice as many styrofoam cups as I thought I needed. I’ve lived a good chunk of my life in the South, and I was excited to see how the cannabis industry’s answer to the cough syrup epidemic would taste and feel.

ACTIV-8 Grape Delta 8 THC Syrup Review

A bottle of ACTIV-8 Grape Delta 8 THC Syrup comes with 50mg of D8 split across two servings. Test results for the current syrup batches are available online. Here are the test results for the Grape THC Syrup.

First Impressions of the Delta 8 THC Syrup in Grape

I filled the styrofoam cups with ice and poured in some lemon-lime flavored sparkling water with one hand and half a bottle of grape-flavored THC syrup with the other. This purple drink was about to have a lemony twist.

The sparkling water was unsweetened, but luckily the syrup itself was. For my tastebuds, this was the perfect amount of sweetness and my favorite type of grape flavoring for me to keep on sipping.

Once you’ve got the active ingredient in there, Delta 8 THC, the rest of it is just about mixing it to taste. Yes, you can add in Jolly Ranchers or any other candy to sweeten the pot up—if you really, really wanted to. Personally, ACTIV-8’s grape flavor is a classic grape flavor and purple color, so I didn’t need to add anything else.

I nursed my cup for several hours. It wasn’t until a few hours in that I started really feeling it. At that point, I was able to keep sipping at the same rate, and I was properly smacked right up until I went to bed.

The Verdict

A classic, more controllable edible high consumed in a not so classic manner. I’m down with it.

ACTIV-8 Cherry Delta 8 THC Syrup Review

The Cherry ACTIV-8 THC Syrup is technically a little stronger in this batch—here are the test results

First Impressions of the Delta 8 THC Syrup in Cherry

For this cup of THC lean, I leaned in on the syrup all the way for a full 50mg of D8 THC. To me, 25mg of D8 definitely doesn’t hit as hard as 25mg of D9, so I wanted to up the stakes a little. Once mixed with sparkling water, this cup of syrup was looking a little pink.

Delta 8 THC Syrup will not make you trip and the cherry flavor is also tasty.

After a few hours with 50mg coursing through my body, I did feel a lot more couch-locked, and a little slower than when I was on the grape-flavored one. But really, it was the exact same high—just stronger. I’ve always enjoyed the edible/drinkable high, and while instant gratification is instant, finding the right level without smoking and being able to coast on that plateau is a wonderful experience.

Don’t be afraid to sip sparingly and, as ACTIV-8 reminds you on its website, this drink is technically for sharing. Another tidbit—the double styrofoam cup is so that your hand’s heat doesn’t make it to the inner cup, which would accelerate the melting of the ice.

The Verdict

These were my first double styrofoam cups of sizzurp ever. Texas Tea, Sizzurp, Purple Drank, Lean—whatever you call it, I’ve never been interested in it. I’ve been around the culture some, and suffice to say that I’ve seen the damage first hand. Like it or not, cough syrup is part of the Opioid Crisis, and THC syrup has the best shot of destroying this on-ramp to opioid addiction.

Again: The damage that prescription cough syrup abuse can have on your organs and on your wallets can’t be overstated.

RIP DJ Screw, Pimp C., and Big Moe. As Big T famously sang for a million dollars: “There’s gotta be a better way. A better way. A better way. Yeah.”

ACTIV-8 THC Syrup is a) legal and b) nowhere near as expensive. Whether you’re just studio sippin’ or looking to join the growing number of individuals who have traded in life-threatening opioid use for non-life-threatening cannabis use, now is the time to let your sizzurp sippin’ social circle know about this better-in-every-way alternative. I hope rap music starts glorifying THC Syrup over Codeine and Promethazine Syrup.

I will be championing this personally to my chopped and screwed friends in the South and beyond—and you should, too!
