Humboldt Vape Tech (HVT) has been a leading vaporizer company since 2016. Its products are popular within the community, with each iteration of their offerings being met with excitement.
HVT, as the name might suggest, is based out of Humboldt, California—in the heart of the Emerald Triangle.
I’ve previously been able to review Humboldt Vape Tech’s EZ Sai Kit and their old Sequoia atomizer. Based on that experience, I was incredibly happy to try out their Hyperion E-Rig and their new Sequoia kit.
The Hyperion E-Rig is an HVT classic that comes in a sleek white box with HVT’s logo front and center. Opening the box reveals a molded carrying case containing everything you need to get your E-Rig up and going.
The accessories include alcohol pads, cleaning q-tips, a handy dandy dab tool, a silicone container for dabs, a glass carb cap with a leash, charging equipment, and extra O-rings.
The best part is that this complete kit includes not two but three total coils. The E-Rig comes with the AVS Hexcore Coil, the Quartz Bucket Coil, and the Top Airflow Titanium Bucket Coil.
I filled the Hyperion with less than half an inch of water and gave it a test pull before I plugged it in. Using the Hyperion is completely intuitive if you’ve used any sort of vaporizer before.
I turned it on by holding the power button down. Once it was on, I activated the preheat function.
The hits were smooth because of the water filtration, and I got no splash damage.
I stuck with the lowest two temperatures so I could taste my dabs, but I would definitely up the temperature depending on the concentrate.
Having so many coil choices also helps ensure that you get exactly the kind of hit you want. I’ve always liked using HVT’s coils for that purpose, but being able to add water filtration to it is a gigantic cherry on top.
The Hyperion is backward-compatible with previous coils you may already have from HVT, including the Sai and Sequoia. And if you ever run out, HVT has more.

Humboldt Vape Tech’s New Sequoia Kit features the tried and true New Sequoia atomizer and coils. The kit also includes the impressive mod body of the VooPoo DRAG Mini, which features a 4400 mAh battery and can fire at 117W of power.
HVT is now offering this customizable kit that gives you an atomizer, coil, and the mod box you’ll need to power it all.
Assembling the New Sequoia Kit is as easy as putting together any 510 threaded cartridge and battery. There is the additional step of having a replaceable coil, but only when you need to change that out.
The kit comes with the Titanium bucket coil—which just happens to be my favorite multipurpose HVT coil anyways. Hits were hard and smooth, and while the first one was a little hot, I was able to remedy that immediately.
The VooPoo DRAG is an impressive mod that allows you to set the temperature exactly where you want it, between 200 and 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The VooPoo DRAG features the GENE.FIT Chip.
Another cool thing about the kit is that you can choose to upgrade the DRAG to the DRAG 2.
I spent a few days with this as my daily driver. I loved being able to hit it in public without others knowing what I’m vaporizing. As great as the Hyperion is, it isn’t the most mobile of devices—it doesn’t exactly fit in your pocket. The New Sequoia Kit does, though.
Another great thing about HVT and the New Sequoia Kit is that you can add a water attachment while you order it.

Humboldt Vape Tech’s New Sequoia Kit and their Hyperion E-Rig are both quality ways to vaporize concentrate. And while you may be heating the same types of coils, the experience can happen at exactly the temperature you want.
HVT gives so much control to its users. That’s just one of the many reasons to try out their products today!
