About Humboldt Vape Tech

Humboldt Vape Tech, also known and branded as HVT, is a leading concentrate atomizer and vaporizer company that has led the pack since 2016. Their name comes from the infamous Humboldt County - which is one of the three counties in northern California that make up the well-known Emerald Triangle. Though the region is historically associated with cannabis cultivation, HVT is living proof that hardware for consuming cannabis can also come from the region. As cannabis concentrates - or dabs - become more and more popular all over the world, it doesn’t surprise me one bit that Humboldt is still producing leading brands. I’ve previously had the privilege of reviewing Humboldt Vape Tech’s EZ Sai Kit so I was incredibly happy to receive their new HVT New Sequoia atomizer as well as their new HVT Hyperion desktop vaporizer.

Humboldt Vape Tech New Sequoia Atomizer Review

Humboldt Vape Tech
The HVT New Sequoia Atomizer is the newest 25mm atomizer from Humboldt Vape Tech and is compatible with coils from their previous Sai line and will work on most 510 threaded mods out of the box - just make sure you can change the wattage. The New Sequoia atomizer comes in a small white box along with a dab tool and extra O-rings. Color-wise, it comes in Black, Stainless Steel, or Titanium and will fit all Sequoia coils though it comes with the titanium bucket by default.

The amount of different coils using different mediums to heat your concentrate is no small thing. Every user will have their own preferences on whether they like quartz, titanium, kanthal, coils, or buckets - and HVT has them covered. Note that for some of the nicer Sequoia coils, you’ll need to make sure your 510 threaded box mod is set to at least 28W. The buckets that I used were good to go anywhere between 20W and 30W. I’ve always really liked HVT’s use of O rings to hold parts together as opposed to having to screw things together - which might get stuck. Of course, you still screw in the coils themselves for maximum security, but the ease of taking the top off the atomizer to be able to refill is an unmatched experience. Another great part about HVT atomizers is the airflow control. I find the best hit to be at right around 1.5/4 airflow vents exposed. I loaded up some shatter in the New Sequoia and hit the fire button while inhaling and had a wonderful hit from the get-go. The bucket heats up fast and provides a clean, powerful hit. For an on the go atomizer, the New Sequoia is my new favorite. Taste: 5/5 Effectiveness: 5/5 Ease of use: 5/5 Overall score: 5/5

Humboldt Vape Tech Hyperion Desktop Bubbler Review

Humboldt Vape Tech
The HVT Hyperion is a sleek water-filtered dabbing machine that comes with its own perfectly molded carrying case. The case includes alcohol pads, cleaning q-tips, a dab tool, a silicone container, a glass carb cap and accompanying silicone lanyard, charger and charging USB-C charging cable, extra O-rings, as well as three Sequoia coils total. My Hyperion came with the AVS Hexcore Coil, a Quartz Bucket Coil, as well as a Top Airflow Titanium Bucket Coil.

Unlike the New Sequoia atomizer, when you put in a Sequoia coil in the Hyperion, you’ll need to push down as you turn the coil clockwise to get it to catch in the Hyperion, which takes a little finesse to get used to but is a nice step to ensure a proper connection. I first filled up the Hyperion bubbler with a little less than a centimeter of water - and tested it to make sure there was no splash damage. I then loaded up some shatter on the dab tool and tapped the fire button twice to preheat; once the Hyperion buzzed once, I knew the preheating cycle was over and I was ready to dab away. I’ve always manually done preheating before and probably never got it perfect, so I was incredibly satisfied by the immediate amount of vapor that filled the chamber.

The hit was both smooth and powerful and didn’t burn in the slightest. The combination of the vibration, sharp colors around the fire button, the sound of the water bubbling, and taste of the shatter was like a sensory symphony that all added to a wonderful high. If I could give one piece of advice for cannabis users - whether smokers or vapers - it would be this: don’t sleep on water filtration. Your lungs will thank you after heavy sessions and despite what you might think, you don’t lose any of the delicious taste. This device is ready for whatever you have to throw at it. The Hyperion is sleek in its black, white, and glass form and the provided case makes it easy to take it with you wherever you’re going. Taste: 5/5 Effectiveness: 5/5 Ease of use: 5/5 Overall score: 5/5 Humboldt Vape Tech’s New Sequoia Atomizer and Hyperion Desktop Bubbler are both great ways to try their new Sequoia coils. Whether you want ultimate mobility or water filtration, HVT has a vape for you in a sleek form factor and at a wallet-friendly cost. This new line of HVT products continues to meet the high standards that the world has come to expect and enjoy from Humboldt and if you’re deciding between an HVT piece and something a little more expensive and worried that HVT isn’t as good - stop because I’m telling you it is.
