More About Truweigh

Started in 2017, Truweigh is the North American arm of Dalman Enterprises Ltd in the United Kingdom. In the UK, Dalman Enterprises has decades of experience which has been absorbed and deployed across the pond. In North America, Truweigh works with Ooze Wholesale to distribute Truweigh scales across the continent. Truweigh scales ship from Michigan and the team is eagerly working on new innovative designs because frankly, that’s what the industry needs right now.
Just like with many accessories in this space, there are way too many generic looking designs. To really stand out, you need to change up the color, loosen up the pricing, and most of all: add new functionality. Truweigh went ahead and did all of that for each of its specially designed products. The TUFF-WEIGH is what you’ll want with you when you’re going out to the farm, while the CRIMSON is what you want if you always lose the taring container. All Truweigh products are backed by a 10-year Limited Warranty and are able to show grams, ounces, troy ounces, pennyweights, carats, and grains as weighing units.

Truweigh TUFF-WEIGH Review

The Truweigh TUFF-WEIGH comes with the two AAA batteries needed to power it up and a user guide. After taking the scale out of the box and plastic bag, I noticed that the scale itself is embedded in a two-sided case similar in size and form to a heavy-duty phone case. On a scale of glittery mall kiosk phone case to $100 OtterBox phone case, the TUFF-WEIGH leans heavily towards the OtterBox.
The protective case isn’t too bulky and provides protection for the scale, which means you probably won’t have to calibrate it as much over time. I turned it on and weighed a new twenty dollar bill as a test. It returned an accurate 1g weight. Sometimes, scales move around a lot in transport and end up damaged. Or, they accidentally turn on and the battery dies before you need to use it. Holding the scale, I realized I had never before felt so confident that a mini-scale could survive being battered around my backpack as I did with this item. If you need a scale for your post-apocalypse to-go bag, look no further. If you need more precision than 1000G X 0.1G, the same scale is available in 100G X 0.01G. You can also swap out the red for green, orange, or even black for the black-on-black look. Effectiveness: 5/5 Ease of use: 5/5 Overall score: 5/5

Truweigh CRIMSON Collapsible Bowl Scale Review

The Truweigh CRIMSON also comes packed with two AAA batteries and an instruction manual. This is the first scale I’ve seen that features a collapsible bowl - and I now realize it’s exactly what I’ve been missing. When you first unbox the CRIMSON, you’ll notice that it looks like you have a collapsible, flexible Tupperware container with a standard Tupperware lid with venting hole and plastic cover. What you’re looking at is the collapsible bowl, complete with lid, with the digital scale protected inside, kind of like the TUFF-WEIGH. However, once you open up the Tupperware-like locking lid, you’ll notice a 200G X 0.01G precision digital scale and accompanying battery sitting inside of the collapsible, flexible bowl part. Separate the two and you’ll have the CRIMSON digital scale with accompanying 99.80g collapsible bowl which, depending on the density of what you’re weighing, can handle about an ounce give or take.
To use the collapsible bowl on the Truweigh CRIMSON digital scale, either put the bowl on the scale before turning it on - or push the Tare button after adding the bowl to the already-turned-on scale. I turned on the CRIMSON and weighed a new twenty dollar bill in the bowl as a test. It returned the accurate 1.00g weight. The CRIMSON is also available in 1000G X 0.1G while a CRIMSON Mini is available with a smaller bowl and 100G X 0.01 precision. As the name might suggest though, the CRIMSON is only available in Red and is an absolute crowd-pleaser and conversation starter. Effectiveness: 5/5 Ease of use: 5/5 Overall score: 5/5 Over the last few years, Truweigh has made a real beachhead in North America with their innovative designs. Based on what I’ve seen, their scales will last longer because they are better protected. Additionally, because Truweigh scales come with a 10-year limited warranty, you can rest assured that you’ll be able to get a new one should something unusual happen to your scale.
